In this fast-moving world, people now rely on the internet where technology is spreading in each and every workspace and technology is everything. From 2G to 4G, we have seen the change in people’s using the internet connectivity. From cities to villages, most of them got the access to use it. From buying clothes online, to video call with family and friends, to fix an appointment with doctor, to getting groceries, everything is now just a click away and at our ease.
According to the latest report by Access Media International on behalf of Expedia, an American global travel technology company suggested that over 40 percent Indians spend an average 6 to 10 hours online searching for best deals of hotels, air tickets as well as combo package deals for prepping for holidays. Most of Indians are willing to spend on holiday as much they can.
Further, it reads, around 23 percent of Indians spend 11-30 hours and around 20 percent spend over 30 hours online, researching while finding for the best deals for a week-long holiday. It even stated that 14% of users fought with their spouses for spending too much time researching before booking a holiday.
This survey was conducted online in between May 30 to June 25, 2018, in metro cities of India like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Pune. It included 600 working people aged between 18 years and above in which 65 % of Indians don’t believe in online bookings. And 25% of holiday seekers book the deals instantly if there are offers available in hotels. 17% of the people waited till the last day to make bookings, 9 percent booked hotels before approval on their leaves, 6 percent booked a hotel before a flight, and 4 percent changed their destination last minute, the report suggested as per the survey.
The survey also revealed that 93 percent of respondents book their hotels within a week of booking their flights tickets. However, if there is a hotel discount, 27% would book immediately, while a total of over 90% will book within the offer period.
