On daily basis, we do not pay attention to little things that can ruin our skin conditions over the period of time. Therefore, we bring you few essential habits that you can incorporate into your lifestyle that will make your skin be grateful to you.
The biggest enemy of your body is sugar and fats. Though we all know about it but for some reason, we often forget that keeping a strict diet is also harmful. Some severe food restrictions can lead to dry and tired skin. Therefore, make sure your diet is balanced with plenty of essential minerals and vitamins.
Harsh facial scrubs do make your skin feel fresh, clean, smooth, and free of all dirt and blackheads. However, too much scrubbing may cause inflammation. If your skin has a tendency to be dry and develop acne, using scrubs will only worsen the condition. Replace them with a soft exfoliating lotion.
Continuous use of makeup brushes without cleaning them can lead to allergies, acne and other skin issues. That is why washing your sponges, brushes puffs, and other tools should be done on regular basis as a part of your skin care routine. You can use regular disinfecting and cleaning wipes for the same. However, for deep cleaning the makeup brushes, the best way is to wash with shampoo or soft foam cleanser.
Cell phone screen gets covered with dust, dirt and more bacterias than the toilet seat. Be careful with your phone because it can lead to itchiness and swelling near cheeks. To prevent all the bacteria from spreading around, make it a habit to clean your smartphone’s screen with cleaning wipes.
Pools are full of chemicals that can dry out the skin, leaving it all flaky and dehydrate. To protect it from chlorine exposure, use a moisturising cream or a sunscreen lotion every time you enter the pool. Swimming can also make you prone to tanning. So after swimming, you should wash thoroughly and apply moisturizing as well as sunscreen to your body.
To avoid clogged pores and pimples to appear after the workout session, make sure you take bath immediately. Take shower gel to the gym with you, and rinse off the sweat immediately after training.
Hot showers and water bath tend to damage the skin’s protective coating of lipids that helps in retaining the moisture in the layers of the skin. The habit of washing yourself with ’boiling’ water can lead to dryness and premature ageing of the skin. Drop the temperature of your shower to room temperature.
The last but not the least, the most important habit is to drink enough water. It’s really important for all the segments of your body from kidney, heart, skin, hair and just about everything. Make it a habit to at least start with the 7-8 glasses of water every day.
