Ace Bollywood playback singer Sonu Nigam had been truly touched by the driver’s bravery and his quickness of thought. The well known Indian singer has given a reward of INR 5 lacs to the Muslim bus driver Sheikh Saleem Ghafoor for his act of courage to oppose firing episode during Amarnath Yatra.
He made a special point that the bus driver was hunted down and assured that the funds reached him in a secure manner.
Bus driver Sheikh Saleem Ghafoor bravely saved many people when some unidentified terrorists started firing on a bus. But, six people lost their lives during the disaster.
When the media people met Sonu, he told that how such kind signals are of extreme significance. A source near to the singer said, “Sonu was really moved by the driver’s courage and his presence of mind. He made sure that the driver was tracked down and ensured that the money reached him safely. It’s an inspiring gesture by him, as he made sure that such unsung heroes are awarded.”
While giving confirmation about the news, Sonu told media, “Such people are always given a bravery award or medal for their actions by the government. But they should be financially rewarded for their goodness and amazing presence of mind.”
The singer has also appealed the administration to declare monetary prize and other help for the brave hero, Sheikh Saleem Ghafoor.
The well known Bollywood crooner awakened anger sometime back when he shared a series of reports in opposition to Azaan calling it ‘forced devoutness’. But; he obtained criticism over his remarks as people addressed him ‘aweless’ towards the religious conviction. Afterward, a Maulvi forwarded fatwa and declared Rs10 lac for any individual who shaves the singer’s head and puts a wreath of old ragged shoes around his neck.
But; Sonu himself interfered and shaved his hair. He also asked the Maulvi to make payment of promised INR 10 lac that denied and stated that they will present the prize money only when Nigam fulfills rest two demands – a garland of old ragged shoes and travel around the nation.
Sonu forwarded to elucidate his place and also shared a video recording of Fajr prayer being called from a mosque close by his residence.
