Noted Playback Singer Anuradha Paudwal who striked the musical notes since the first version of Ashiqui is conferred with honorary D. Litt Degree by the D Y Patil University this year on their 5th convocation ceremony at Kolhapur Maharastra.
She has been a National award recepient, four time winner of prestigious filmfare award; started her career in 1973 and still hits the right musical chord with her audience.
Her contribution has been tremendous in our devotional recites that are played in the loop be it Durga Saptashati, Shiv Mahima srot, Bhagwad Gita or any devotional bhajans. She stands out as a uni-power in this era.
Anuradha Paudwal states “This is a recognition of my work and the entire art fraternity, which I am associated with. This will inspire me to work harder”.
The 64-year-old artist, in her career spanning over more than three decades in Bollywood, non-film and regional music, has given scores of memorable hits, espcially during the 90s.
Beside giving superhit songs from films like Hero, Ram Lakhan, Tezab, Ashiquee, Jung, Dil, Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahi, Paudwal’s devotional songs became widely popular and achieved her a distinct mark in the film and music industry.
