According to a study done by the Permanente Researchers, full-fat dairy products affect the condition of breast cancer greatly. A woman diagnosed with breast cancer in early stages is more likely to die early if she regularly eats full-fat dairy products. On the other hand, low-fat dairy products don’t cause such issues.
What’s the reason?
A hormone called estrogen generates and get stored in the fat cells. This hormone stimulates the growth of breast cancer cells. According to the researchers, the full-fat dairy products in the United States have high estrogen level, as they are produced by the pregnant cows. Hence, it is better to avoid the full-fat dairy and switch to the low-fat products if you are in the initial stages of breast cancer. The low-fat ones possibly have lower levels of estrogen and progesterone.
How was the research conducted?
The researchers wanted to know the effects of full-fat dairy products on the breast cancer. Hence, all the dairy products such as Whole milk, Condensed or evaporated milk, Pudding, Ice-cream, Custard, Flan, Cheese, Yogurt, and Butter were included in the range of research.
A group of women was analyzed for 12 years and the conclusions were highly separable. The women having one or more full-fat dairy products every day got 49% higher risk of dying from breast cancer than the women who were on low-fat dairy products.
However, researchers say that there is much more room for research and the conclusions are still in the initial stages.
