Salman Jailed in Blackbuck Poaching Case, While B-Town Is Left Disappointed, Twitter Has Hilarious Reactions

Salman Khan has finally been convicted for the 1998 Blackbuck poaching case in which the actor was accused of killing two blackbucks while shooting for Sooraj Barjatya’s ‘Hum sath sath hain’ in Jodhpur. While his co-actors from the movie, Saif Ali khan, Neelam, Tabu and Sonali Bendre, who were also summoned by the court for accompanying the actor while hunting was acquitted by the Jodhpur court on Thursday.

The judge on Thursday stated, “The way the accused killed two innocent black bucks in violation of the wildlife laws…he is a film star, people emulate him… there has been a rise in poaching incidents, so leniency is not justified.”

Bollywood is in deep shock and saddened by the sentence announced for Salman Khan. They took to Twitter to express their disappointment.

The real shocker of the case is that the actor has been jailed after almost 20 years of the incident, that if the blackbuck would have died of natural death till now. Twitter has again proved its sarcasm by reacting hilariously on Salman’s conviction. Here are some of the funny tweets:

Salman is sentenced to 5 years of jail imprisonment and Rs 10,000 fine under Section 9 & 51 of the Wildlife Protection Act while his co-actors have been acquitted by the Jodhpur court. Salman has already reached Jodhpur Central Jail and his lawyers have applied for a bail plea. But it seems difficult to get him bail at least until tomorrow.
