Shahrukh Khan is pathetic with relationships. Read why!

Shahrukh Khan, who is considered the King of Romance and give love vibes to girls of all ages feels that he is not romantic in real life. In last 2 decades, there has been no other actor who could make his co-actress or any of the fan blush.

But the actor denies that he is romantic in real life. In an interview with a laeding agency, SRK said, “I am pathetic with relationships. I am so pathetic that I am comic.”

He further said, “If somebody said what did you say to him or her when he or she said this, my answer would shock you. They are like ‘but how could you?’ and I say, ‘I don’t know how else to relate to this.’ I am very bad with relationships, I am awful.”

If you have watched any of his romantic films, you would recall that how he never shies away from expressing his love. But in the real life, he prefers to hide his emotions. He is also very shy. While talking about his love story with Gauri, on The Anupam Kher Show – Kucch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai, SRK said, “I am very shy in personal life. I had never asked a girl out.” And when he finally got a chance to dance with her, Shah Rukh Khan enjoyed the opportunity, he said, “I danced with her, she was very good. I asked for her telephone number and she was the first girl with whom I had danced or asked for their number. I felt that she is the one for me, as she has not told me a ‘no’ for now.”

Shahrukh says, “I am extremely one-sided, perhaps even selfish. Actually, I am very detached. I am demotional – emotional and detached, I don’t know how it works. I won’t be able to say anything that I’ve done in my films to a girl, or even in relationships. I am extremely closeted, introverted, shy, reclusive and completely shut off about my emotions.”

However, he prefers to take up the roles which are opposite to his personality. He always like challenging roles. King Khan says, “I don’t have to believe in it, I have to make you believe in it and that’s a challenge always… An actor always goes for something that he is not. It’s a vent. I want to be a Batman, a Spider-Man, a fire fighter, an evil conniving Don and I want to be the greatest lover in the world. And I am not any of these. That’s why it turns me on.”

Most of SRK’s love stories have  started with train sequence. Be it Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota or Chennai Express, his train sequences can never be forgotten. However, he doesn’t promote such scenes, because he is not a believer of such situations. He said, “I am not telling you to run after a train and climb it. In real life, I would stop the train, or say let’s meet at the next station. I would never do it in real life, putting my hand out, beating her would-be-husband. In Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, the girl is getting married to a guy downstairs, I walk up to her and say ‘I love you’. Now that’s extremely weird!”

Though he always takes us to a dreamy world, but this proves that he is very practical in real life.

Well, that was quite honest of him!

SRK is currently waiting for the release of his upcoming film ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ opposite Anushka Sharma. The film is directed by Imtiaz Ali.
