Actor Siddharth tweet against Saina Nehwal termed as ‘misogynistic and outrageous’ by NCW; Demands legal action

Actor Siddharth’s recent tweet activity has not been much appreciative. The actor criticised the badminton player Saina Nehwal and that didn’t go well with the netizens. No sooner was he slammed for his tweet, National Commission for Women (NCW) took part in it as they called his words to be ‘misogynistic and outrageous for a woman’s modesty.”

Siddhart had apparently criticised badminton player for tweeting in support of PM Modi, after he was stuck on a flyover in Punjab for around 15-20 mins. It had lead to comprise in PM’s security and he had to return to airport cancelling his rally in the state.

Speaking to Twitter, Saina tweeted, “No nation can claim to be safe if the security of its own PM gets compromised. I condemn, in the strongest words possible, the cowardly attack on Prime Minister Modi by the anarchists.” Quoting the tweet above, Siddharth wrote, “Subtle cock champion… Thank God we have protectors of India. Shame on you #Rihanna.”

Twitter immediately went to the comments section and called Siddharth for the foul language and several asked him to delete the post. However, the actor instead defended his tweet and wrote: “COCK & BULL” That’s the reference. Reading otherwise is unfair and leading!”

Chairman of NCW criticised the actor for his tweet. NCW also took cognisance as they wrote to DGP of Maharashtra and are registering for FIR. They also requested micro-blogging app to block the actor’s Twitter account.
