Konkona stepped into the world of entertainment long ago, when she was a child. It was the Bengali film named Indira in 1983 in which she was first seen as a child. Since then she has proved herself to be a born actress, as she is the daughter of Aparna Sen, a leading actress of Bengali films at a time and now a brilliant director.

Konkona has worked in movies like Page 3, Mr. and Mrs. Iyer, Laaga Chunari Mein Daag, Lipstick Under My Burkha, Wake Up Did, Talvar and many more. Any character she is given, Konkona just gives life to it. Filmmakers now show faith in her and give her opportunities to showcase her versatility.

The English film Mr. and Mrs. Iyer was directed by Aparna Sen. Konkona got National Film Award for Best Actress for her outstanding acting as a Tamil housewife in the film. Konkona’s film Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare releases on 18th September. The movie casts Bhumi Pednekar too.

After her debut via Bengali films, Konkona worked in a number of Bengali films when she was a grown-up actress. She is multi-talented, versatile and above all, a great human being.
