After receiving overwhelming response for Adipurush’s second and final trailer, director Om Raut and actress Kriti Sanon visited Tirupati to offer prayers at Venkateshwara temple on June 7. A video from their visit has gone viral on the internet, which features the director kissing on Kriti’s cheek in order to bid her goodbye. The act did not go well with some people.
Now, the head priest at Telangana’s Chikur Balaji temple described the video as condemnable and raised objection to the Adipurush duo. “This is a condemnable act. Even a husband and wife do not got there [temple] together. You can go to a hotel room and do it. Your behaviour is like insulting Ramayana and Goddess Sita,” stated the high priest.
Earlier, BJP state secretary Ramesh Naidu Nagothu had slammed the antic and termed it as “disrespectful and unacceptable” at a sacred temple. However, the tweet was later deleted, but it was already viral.
Speaking of the movie, the Prabhas-starrer will hit the theatres on June 16. It is one of the most anticipated movies of the year as it has remained in production for around three years. It also stars Sunny Singh as Laxman and Saif Ali Khan as Ravana.
