At the Cannes Film Festival in 2023, actress Aishwarya Rai made sure her red carpet appearance was memorable. Whether you like it or not, her look has clearly been a talking point on the internet. The actress wore a silver hooded gown by Sophie Couture with a huge black bow in front and her hair left untied. Those on social media, however, were unimpressed with Aishwarya’s outfit, comparing it to aluminium foil.
Memes soon made their way to the internet when Aishwarya showed up at the screening of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny in the hooded silver dress. Some said it was inspired by the alien Jaadu from the film Koi… Mil Gaya, while others said it was a shawarma roll or “Swiggy instamart ice cream delivery”.
A photo of packed ice cream was posted with a picture of Aishwarya’s silver gown by a user. Another user posted a photo of a man packed to shelter himself from rain next to the actress’s red carpet pic, asking “who wore it better?”
