A lot of Bollywood celebrities joined the trend of promoting Lakshadweep over Maldives, after some ministers of Maldivian government dropped derogatory comment over the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the islands of Lakshadweep. Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Varun Dhawan and many more have joined the trend to promote Indian islands. However, it seems that Ranveer Singh mistakenly shared picture of Maldives while promoting the tourism for Lakshadweep. He allegedly deleted the post, but the screenshot of the same had gone viral and is now once again in the news due to Ashneer Grover.
While reacting to comedian Vir Das’ post on X, wherein he spoke in favor of Lakshadweep but also acknowledged that there are some celebs and influencers who are petrified of sharing their pictures from Maldives vacay, Ashneer said that there is a movie star who is copy pasting the message to visit Indian islands without knowing where Lakshadweep is. Fans are quite certain that the former Shark Tank India judge has taken an indirect jibe at Ranveer.
