“To be a victim of body shaming isn’t just associated with overweight people but also with skinny people,” says Athiya Shetty who has recently revealed that she was one of the victims of body shame too. Many Bollywood actors have been through body-shaming at least once in their existing career span. It has been said to have affected their confidence on stage and in real life. Four film achiever in Bollywood, Athiya Shetty advices that it is necessary to be “kind” as our words work like swords that can have a major ‘impact’ on other people’s self-image.

The 29-year-old actress talks about her experience regarding  how in her childhood she was part of the same category because of her certain looks and complexion, which made it hard for her to stir her lost self-confidence back up on the stage again. The criticism that she faced about being skinny in her debut opposite Sooraj Pancholi, a Salman Khan produced film hero, affected her in a way that caused her to talk about this incident out in public.

Daughter of Suniel Shetty, says that she can carry herself better now than she did in her teenage and childhood days where she felt extremely ‘conscious’. She also describes how not everyone knows what battle people are ‘facing’ and what might trigger their insecurities, so it would be good to rather not say anything than to spill something  inconsiderate and insensitive.
