Recently a complaint has been registered with Netflix for Anurag Kashyap’s film in the Netflix anthology Ghost Stories, in one of the earlier examples highlighting the new IT laws being stretched into effect. The complaint was made against the film produced back in the year 2020 names Ghost Stories. The film turned out to be amongst one of the examples of grievances that have been registered after the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting formulated by Information Technology.
As per the reports, the complaint registered objection was raised when the lead actress Sobhita Dhulipala eats a foetus after she suffered a miscarriage. The complaint noted stated that” The scene is not required for the story, and if the creators wished to add such a scene. there should have been a trigger warning for women who have gone through the trauma of miscarriages.”
The reports claim that the complaint should be made within 24 hours and should be addressed at the earliest. Further, the report quoted the spokesperson saying that it was partner managed production and they reached out to the production company to share the complaint.
Talking about the new Information Technology laws it has been seen by many as an effort for moderating and imposing restrictions on digital creation.
