The Australian cricket team is currently in the Maldives, following their departure from India due to the cancellation of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League.
Late Saturday, news surfaced that Australia’s opening batsman and SRH star David Warner and commentator Michael Slater were involved in a physical altercation in a Maldivian pub. The two got into an altercation at the Taj Coral Resort in the island nation, according to The Daily Telegraph. However, the two have refuted the rumours and stated that they would remain close friends.
Slater is said to have texted one of the publication’s senior journalists, saying that he and David are great friends who have no intention of fighting. He went on to say that it was just a rumour with no foundation in fact.
Meanwhile, Warner claims there has been “no drama”. Warner wrote in a text, “There has been no drama. I don’t know where you get these things from. Unless you were here and have got concrete evidence you can’t write anything. Nothing happened”.
Warner and Slater have been friends for a long time, but reports suggested that the two were involved in a heated and out-of-control feud, on which the two have now broken their silence and have denied the news.
