Deepika’s much awaited film Chhapaak completes first schedule, director Meghna Gulzar posts pics

Well known film maker Meghna Gulzar is all set to take Laxmi’s tale to the silver screen, with the movie Chhapaak that has Deepika Padukone.

While talking about this at an episode, Laxmi stated, “I have never won a medal in school. Who would have thought about a biopic being made on me? I am thankful to Meghna ji for considering my work worthy enough to be converted into a film.”

“I am also elated that a celebrity like Deepika is playing me. I just want to say that this film will be a tight slap on that attacker who thought he has ruined my life and to the society who looked at me like a criminal,” she added up.

In the month of March, Deepika revealed her appearance as Malti for the flick. Laxmi stated that when she witnessed her appearance, her initial response was “Wow.” of Raazi recognition

Now, the actress has finished up the initial shooting agenda of her movie in the national capital. The actress dons the role of an acid-attack survivor named Malti in the movie and was seen with makeup and use of artificial body parts in Delhi.

Director Meghna shared the wrap up pictures from the film sets on her personal Insta handle and captioned them, “Happily halfway done! Delhi schedule wrap for team #chhapaak.”

Actor Vikrant Massey of super hit show Balika Vadhu dons the male lead in Chhapaak and can be witnessed together with Deepika who puts on a purple salwar suit along with a maroon dupatta.

A few days before, a recording of Deepika and Vikrant’s romantic scene from the movie leaked on the web.

The two actors can be seen romancing each other at the terrace while shooting for the scene. They are surrounded by several onlookers who are hooting in the background in the video.

Chhapaak is based on the life of acid-attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal from the nation capital. It is proposed to hit theaters on January 10, 2020. The movie also marks Deepu’s debut as a film maker.

Deepika had declared the project in her tweet that read, “A story of trauma and triumph. And the unquashable human spirit. Elated to collaborate with Fox Star Studios on #Chhapaak @meghnagulzar @masseysahib @foxstarhindi.”
