As the number of Covid-19 cases in the capital continues to rise, the T2 terminal of the Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) will be temporarily closed from midnight on May 17th. According to a PTI report, Terminal 2 of Delhi airport will close temporarily due to a drop in passenger traffic as the number of flights has decreased significantly due to the second wave of the pandemic. Only flights to and from T3 at the Delhi airport will continue. GoAir and IndiGo airlines, according to DIAL officials, will relocate their operations to T3.
According to reports, regular traffic at Delhi International Airport has dropped to about 30,000 passengers.
Due to travel restrictions imposed by several countries during Covid-19, the current amount of domestic-to-international flight traffic is down, and T3 can handle the load on its own.
