Well known small screen beauty Disha Vakani, popularly recognized as Dayaben in the super hit sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, took a maternity break during September 2017.

After that, the bubbly actress has been absent from the popular show. Whilst her keen buffs are excitedly waited for their favorite Dayaben to make a comeback to the show, the makers of the show recently made a declaration that they will have to search for a replacement to play the role of Dayaben as Disha hasn’t made any confirmation regarding her return.

But, renowned actor Dilip Joshi, who dons the character of Jethalal, her on-screen partner, still has hope for her come back in the show.

While talking to media people, when he was asked a query on working with new Daya, the actor answered, “Well I don’t know, they say – ‘Never say never’. It might happen that Disha returns as Daya Ben. I’m hoping and keeping my fingers crossed (for that).”

But, he also said that he is all set for a change, if it were to happen.

He said, “Life is life, it goes on. If someone from our family goes, life goes on. You have to adjust. There’s no option.” Reflecting on Disha’s presence in the show, Dilip said she was best suited for the job. “I think she owns this character. She has worked hard for 9 and a half years. Obviously! (no actress can replace).”

But, he added that in spite of having worked together for so many years, they do not have any personal link.

“There was no personal bond between us. We only have professional communication. (Like) I congratulated her when she delivered the baby. Or in between, if it’s her birthday I message her. But it’ll be wrong on my part to talk to her about work.” He was, nonetheless, hopeful of her return and said: “Hopefully, Daya’s entry will be there. That’ll be exciting.”
