The Income Tax Department is all set to launch its new e-filing portal on Monday, i.e. 7th June 2021. The new portal consists of several new features which will be a part of the immediate processing of Income Tac Returns for quick refund issuance. The main aim of the new portal is to provide taxpayer convenience and a modern, seamless experience to taxpayers, the Central Board of Direct Taxes informed the media in a statement.
The new app which will be available on mobile as well will be released subsequently to the initial launch of the portal, to enable taxpayers to get familiar with the various features. The new portal is integrated with immediate processing of the Income Tax Returns to issue refunds to taxpayer as soon as possible.
In the new portal, the interactions and uploads can be seen on a single dashboard for follow-up action by the taxpayer. They will be able to regularly update their individual profiles to provide certain details of income including salary, house property, etc. which will be using to file their returns. The detailed enablement of pre-filing with salary income, dividend, interest and capital gains will also be available after TDS and SFT statements are uploaded.
Lastly, the software for the ITR preparation will be available free of cost with interactive questions to help taxpayer for ITRs. The functionalities for filing Income Tax Forms, submit responses to notice in Faceless Scrutiny or Appeals and add tax professionals will also be available on the new page.
