On March 29, 2021, everyone across the country celebrated the festival of Holi. This festival is all about getting smeared in colours. However, pertaining to the on-going health crisis, the celebrations were kept low-key taking into consideration all the safety protocols. But it didn’t stop people from getting loathed in colours.
No matter how beautiful the colours might look and how much fun one has while celebrating the festival of Holi, the stains by these colours are always a cause of concern. One might use all the organic colour but it does at times causes harm to skin and hair.
Some synthetic colours can even cause rashes, itchy patches and dryness of the skin. Strong colours might even lead to an excess hair fall. Once the enthusiasm of the day seizes, all the concerns start to arise.
Here are a few easy and effective ways one can use to get rid of the Holi colours without causing any damage to skin and hair:
Fenugreek Seed and Curd Hair Pack (Methi Seeds-Dahi Hair Pack)
It is very necessary to rinse the hair with water before applying the shampoo to wash-off additional colour. To avoid dryness of hair one can simply prepare a hair pack by soaking a few fenugreek seeds in four table-spoon of curd. Apply this pack on the scalp and wash it off with a good shampoo after 30 minutes. One can also use a mixture of honey and olive oil for deep conditioning.
Multani Mitti or Besan-Milk Face Pack
One should never scrub their faces with soap to get the colour off. Rather opting for a besan and milk face pack can do wonders without causing any skin damage. One can also use a generous amount of Multani mitti on the entire face and body to revive skin and get rid of the colour.
Use Of Glycerine
Celebrating Holi is bound to include lots of dirt and dust which can cause itchy skin. To soothe the red itchy skin, one can use some glycerine and mix it with rose water and dab the mixture gently on the face or body. After 15 minutes rinse your face or body with lukewarm water and pat dry it.
Lemon and Aloe Vera Cleanser
Holi colours can get stuck into the open pores of one’s skin and may cause some skin issues. Hence, it is very necessary to have a proper cleanser to deeply cleanse the pores. The cleanser one is using must be rich in lemon and aloe vera content. The Cetaphil cleansers can also work for sensitive skin.
