FIR registered against TMKOC producer Asit Kumarr Modi in sexual harassment case

The Mumbai Police has taken a significant step against the producer of Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Asit Kumarr Modi, operation head Sohail Ramani, and executive producer, Jatin Bajaj, in a complaint of sexual harassment. The case was registered at Powai police station after a popular actress associated with the show made the allegations.

As per the report by ANI, the police have registered a FIR under sections 354 for assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty and 509 for word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman under Indian Penal Code (IPC).

According to the complaint, the victim, whose identity has been kept under wraps from identity purpose, has alleged the accused on sexual harassment, that took place between 2021 and 2023. The victim has been a part of the show for the past 15 years.

This development comes after TMKOC former actress Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal recorded her statement with the Mumbai Police last week, regarding her own allegations of sexual harassment against Asit Kumarr Modi. These allegations and complaints has raised the tension among the work environment within the widely watch television serial.
