The fuel prices in India are touching the sky these days. The time is not far when petrol will be counted as a luxury item and people would apply for bank loan in order to afford it. The prices of petrol have reached up to Rs 90 per litre in Mumbai whereas Delhi at  Rs 80.33 per litre.

As the prices of fuel are witnessing a constant rise, a newly wed couple got the best wedding gift ever. They received 5 litres of petrol a their wedding gift and we are not surprised with it. Friends of the groom gave them a can of five litres which contained petrol. The groom laughed as he received the gift. This report is from Tamil Nadu where the prices of petrol is Rs 85.15 per litre. Recently, after the prices of fuel were hiked, A Commuter said to ANI, “The way the prices are increasing with each passing day, it seems that it would cross Rs. 100 per litre. It’s only the common man who is getting affected due to this. The government should take some steps and do something about it.”

BJP tried to give clarification about the rising fuel prices. It shared an info graphic on Twitter.

However, the ruling part was brutally trolled for it. And of course, Congress took the lead.

Rajkumar Rinwa, a BJP Minister in Rajastan said, “Fuel prices are tied to crude oil prices in the world market. The government is working hard to bring down the prices. There is so much expenditure, floods all over, and consumption…public don’t understand that if crude prices are high, they should reduce their other expenses.”

As 2019 elections are near, the rising prices of fuel might have a negative impact on BJP government.
