Gone are the days when gold was only an accessory, for it is edible. From Dubai’s Royal Gold Biryani which is served with gold topping to Black Diamond Ice-cream, these bizarre recipes are gaining a lot of popularity recently. These perfect recipes do come at a price ranging from Rs 20K to Rs 2 lakh. The foods items are not only tried and loved by many but also the restaurants have tried the recipes.
‘Fusion food’ is the new gastronomical trend and understanding the same trend many restaurants have successfully managed to develop fusion dishes.
We have gathered some of the fusion food recipes:
A restaurant name, Bombay Borough, is serving the Royal Gold Biryani. This Dubai based restaurant serves the dish with variety of grilled meat and of course, raita. Priced at AED 1,000, the dish requires three types of rice and variety of grilled meat. While the restaurant was celebrating its first anniversary, its gigantic biryani stole the show. The most expensive biryani was garnished with 23-karat edible gold.
“It is the exuberant journey to experience Royalty. This royal meal is served in a Thaal and the Gold Biryani is garnished with 23-karat edible gold,” the restaurant wrote. This dish of them was complemented by a wide variety of sauces, raitas and curries. It also included Mughlai Koftas and Malai Chicken roast.
Dubai based shop, Scoopi Café, serves an ice-cream with 23-karat edible gold flakes. Black Diamond’s scoop priced at $187 (approx. Rs 61,000) consist of Madagascar Vanilla Ice-cream, and topped with Iranian truffles. Besides the gold, it also has Iranian saffron and is served in a Versace bowl, which anyone can keep it.
Based in New York, restaurant Industry Kitchen has a pizza on their menu which is served with layer of gold. The dish is priced at more than Rs 2 lakh ($2700). It is topped with edible gold leaf, along with foie gras, imported white stilton cheese, ossetra caviar, and truffles. But the dish is not available on instant basis. As wrote by the Luxury Lifestyle on Instagram, “But you sure you give them the required 48hours advance notice. But tbh I think I’m good with my regular dominos takeout at least I get some wedges and a bottle of coke.”
Berco’s Popcorn, the popcorn covered with caramel and 23-karat gold is being served in a 6.5-gallon tin in Chicago can costs $2,500 which is Rs 1,87,000 approx., as per Luxhabitat, a Dubai based website. The popcorns are seasoned with Laseo salt which is not available easily.
