There were several speculations and rumors regarding the retirement of Mahendra Singh Dhoni since the completion of 2015 World Cup. However, Dhoni just continued his participation in all the matches on behalf of the Indian cricket team. Now, after India’s defeat over New Zealand on 10th July Semi-Final Match, people have once again started speculating about Dhoni’s retirement.

We guess that this could be the last World Cup to Dhoni. But, unfortunately, we couldn’t witness the Men in Blue winning the World Cup trophy. The veteran Team India cricket player was actually in the middle that held the responsibility to take the whole team one step closer to the victory. Sadly, it didn’t come true and we once again lost the prestigious World Cup.

When Martin Guptill made him run out, all the hopes on the match were dropped all of a sudden. When MS Dhoni was walking back to the pavilion, there was a single question pricking in each and every individual’s mind that it’s his last game. Will Dhoni play the cricket match for India? The same question has been asked to the Indian Captain Virat Kohli post the match during the press conference.

During the press meet, Virat said about the retirement of Dhoni. He said, ‘No, he hasn’t told us anything about his future.’ Dhoni recently celebrated his 38th birthday three days back. Speaking about the previous match, we must definitely applaud the fighting spirit of the Indian cricketers till the end. The partnership between Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni is truly commendable when the game was in a critical stage. But, the seventh wicket of MS Dhoni made everyone loose hopes about the victory.

However, we still love our players and their team spirit that we have witnessed throughout the World Cup. As of now, Virat Kohli has declined the news regarding Dhoni’s retirement. However, the veteran player might make his announcement any time on. We would definitely miss one of the fantastic players ever in the Indian cricket team if he moves out of the team announcing his retirement.
