Biopics are made being on famous personalities such as criketers, actors, and notable personalities in Bollywood. Amid all this, another biopic has been announed which will be based on a comedian’s life. Producer Mahaveer Jain on Friday announced a biopic on comedian Kapil Sharma. The film titled ‘Funkaar’ will be directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba under Lyca Productions.
Director Lamba, who is known for ‘Fukrey’, is currently working on ‘Fukrey 3’ stated that he is looking forward to bring forward the “story of India’s most beloved Funkaar, Kapil Sharma.” Lyca Productions and Mahaveer Jain have collaborated in the past for Akshay Kumar’s Ram Setu, the same production house has also collaborated with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for a special project ‘Mann Bairagi’ and with Aanand L Rai for ‘Good Luck Jerry’ which stars Janhvi Kapoor as lead.
The producer stated that they are proud to present “comedy superstar Kapil Sharma’s untold story on the big screen, in a big way.” He added that it is due to the comedian that billions of people get their daily dose of dopamine.
Meanwhile, Kapil is all set to make his Netflix debut with his Netflix original ‘Kapil Sharma: I’m Not Done Yet’, which is to premiere on January 28.
