The Kerala Story performed exceptionally well on the box office and turned out to be a blockbuster. However, reports have suggested the makers of the film still haven’t received any lucrative offer for its OTT release.
As per the reports by Bollywood Hungama, the news portal reached out to film’s director Sudipto Sen, who revealed that they “haven’t got a suitable offer from any OTT platform.” The director added that reports surfacing online regarding the release date of the movie on OTT platforms are all fake. Sen believes that a section of people in the industry have been plotting against them as their success have “irked many sections of the film industry.”
Bollywood Hungama further reported that they reached out to one of the leading OTT platforms as to learn the reason why TKS is not yet streaming online. “We don’t want to get into anything politically controversial,” was the response.
As per the sources, by the news portal, the movie is struggling to fit into any genre as the leading OTT platforms are majorly interested in intelligent, ,thought provoking, and entertaining subjects. Meanwhile, The Kerela Story was understood as propaganda film by many.
When released, the movie faced subsequent backlash and was banned in West Bengal. However, the ban was later lifted in the state.
