In a high target match between CSK and MI, Kieron Pollard of Mumbai Indians smashed the faster fifty of the season as he smashed 53 runs out of 17 balls and changed things for MI after skipper Rohit Sharma and De Cock gave a firm start in the powerplay.
Mumbai Indians succeeded to chase down 218 runs in 20 overs with Pollard being the highest run getter for the side. Pollard ended the match with 87 runs out of 34 balls which included 8 sixes and 6 fours at a strike rate of 255.9.
The turning point of the match was when Pollard’s catch was dropped by Faf du Plessis in the death overs.
Kieron Pollard not only bagged the fastest fifty contest but also scored his highest individual score in just 34 balls. Mumbai Indians also striked down their highest ever chase so far in IPL.
