Madhuri Dixit’s mother Snehlata Dixit took her last breath on Sunday, March 12, at the age of 90. The actress hosted a prayer meet for her mother today, where she was snapped arriving with her husband Dr. Shriram Nene. Among the attendees were Jackie Shroff, Raja Kumari, Ritesh Deshmukh, Boney Kapoor, Vidya Balan, Javed Jafferi and others to pay their final respects.
While Jackie was seen holding a plant, Raja Kumari came with flowers for the prayer meet. Dr. Shriram Nene was seen with folded hands as he stood next to Madhuri. Vidya arrived with her husband Siddharth Roy Kapur.
Madhuri along with her family released a joint statement on March 12, wherein they stated, “Our beloved Aai, Snehalata Dixit, passed away peacefully this morning surrounded by her loved ones.”
The next day, the actress took to her Instagram to pen a heartfelt note on the demise of her mother. She shared a picture of her mother with a caption, “Woke up this morning to find Aai’s room empty. It feels surreal.” She added that the mother taught her to celebrate and embrace life. Her mother will be missed dearly but she will love on in their memories, concluded the note.
