Milkha Singh admitted to the hospital due to low oxygen levels; Health stable now

Legendary athlete Milkha Singh was admitted to the PGIMER Intensive Care Unit in Chandigarh on Thursday after there was a dip in his oxygen levels. His condition is stable now.

He was discharged from the Fortis hospital, Mohali after a special request and is continually being monitored. He is under isolation and oxygen support.

The 90-year-old athlete’s son Jeev Milkha Singh, a celebrated golfer confirmed this by stating “Yes, he is currently in the ICU Covid ward. Praying to God for their recovery.

The hospital so put out a statement saying, “Flying Sikh Milkha Singh has been admitted in ICU in Covid  Hospital of PGIMER at 3.35 pm today due to dipping levels of oxygen, he is stable now.”

It is being concluded that Singh contracted the virus from a house help at their Chandigarh house. He was admitted to the hospital after complaining of dehydration, diarrhea and low oxygen levels.

Along with Singh, his 82-year-old wife Nirmal Kaul was also being treated for covid and pneumonia. She is a celebrated Volleyball player from yesteryear. While Mr.Singh has returned home, Mrs. Singh continues to be in the ICU under oxygen support due to fluctuating levels and constant monitor of the doctors.

We wish for a speedy recovery for the legendary couple who have brought numerous laurels to our country.
