The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning about the coming rains in the Pune, Satara, Solapur, Sangli and Kolhapur districts. It predicts heavy rainfall over 3-4 hours at specific locations. The IMD has also issued a similar warning for Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Dhule, Nandurbar, Osmanabad, Aurangabad, Beed and Nashik districts.
Mumbai and Thane are under an orange alert and Palghar & Raigad are on red alert for the same period, indicating heavy rainfall. Yesterday morning Mumbai was hit by heavy rainfall, causing waterlogging and traffic jams. Areas of Sion, SV Road between Bandra and Andheri, Milan and Andheri subway were inundated with water.
