Munnesa Managuli, An Auto Driver Who Gives Free Rides To Pregnant Women, Disabled And Soldiers

In the world full of fraud and selfishness, it is hard to find an example of generosity. But, there are people like Munnesa Managuli.

Munnesa Managuli is an auto driver who provides free rides to pregnant women, persons with physical disabilities, soldiers, and Kannadigas living in border areas.

Mr. Managuli while revealing details on his auto said, “I have clearly written to whom I offer free service. They can contact me on this below-given numbers.” He is a BA graduate, but after getting no better job he shifted to being an auto driver about 11 years ago.

“In 1992, when I was in Narayanapura village in Basavanabagewadi taluk, I saw a pregnant woman die as she did not get an ambulance or any other vehicle to visit hospital. That incident lingered in my mind and when I became an auto driver, I decided to provide free service to such persons,” he said.

Started from 2015 Managuli till date has provided service to nearly 2,000 people.

“Many people have my number. If I am coming from any hospital, I carry such people and drop them either to their homes, bus stand or railways stations as per their needs,” he said.

Well, wanted to have an autorickshaw of his own, but he is not financially strong. He pays Rs. 250 per day to the owner. He further said, “I am not doing the service for any award or appreciation, just for my personal satisfaction. I always feel elated when people who have taken my help call me back to expressed their gratitude, this itself is a biggest reward for me.”
