We may all recall our parents forcing us to wear monkey caps during the winter season. It protected us from the cold winds by covering our heads, ears, neck and mouth. These were widely available in marketplaces and were not expensive. Although some may believe that these caps are out of fashion, Italian luxury fashion label Dolce & Gabbana recently released a Khaki coloured monkey cap for ₹40,000. Yes, you read that correctly.
A screenshot of this product can be seen in a tweet posted by Swati Moitra. The screenshot shows a Khaki ski mask cap that was initially priced at Rs 40,000 but was reduced to Rs 31,990. Many people commented on how similar this cap is to a monkey cap after seeing this post. Even in the post’s caption, she penned, “As a Bengali, I am horrified and vindicated.”
