In a latest tweet, the PMO announced that the Prime Minister will address the nation at 5 pm on Monday i.e. today. In its tweet, PMO India said, “Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi will address the nation at 5 PM today on 7th June.”

The address is announced at a time when the country recorded the lowest coronavirus cases since the beginning of the second wave in India. India recorded around 1 lakh new cases in the last 24 hours. The daily Covid-19 death toll has also come down to a great extent. The number of active cases in the country has decreased to 14 lakh since its peak in May.
With the decreasing number of active cases, the un-lockdown has begun in many states in India. At such circumstances, Prime Minister Narendra Modi may appeal the citizens to uphold the restrictions and safety measures in more strict sense so as to avoid the third wave from spreading the wrath in India. He may also emphasize of the importance of vaccination and the procedures for vaccinating majority citizens of India.
On Friday, Prime minister lauded Indian scientists for developing a Made in India vaccine against Covid-19 and boosting measures to battled the pandemic. He elaborated on India’s experience in past century when India used to wait long to lay its hands on innovations but now it is working should to shoulder with their counterparts. PM Modi was addressing a meeting of the council of Scientific and Industrial Research Society via a video conference.
