Arun Govil attained cult status after donning the character of Lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar’s 1987 Ramayan. After playing the role, people started calling him as Lord Rama. He is a big inspiration for a lot of people. The actor enjoys a huge fan following on social networks.

Today, Arun Govil has attained yet another milestone when his Twitter handle crossed 5 lakh followers mark. Arun Govil is one of the most popular Indian actors and his popularity carries on soaring.

Arun Govil has been a part of the micro blogging site for years but he started using it on a regular basis a while back. On achieving this milestone of 5 lakh followers, the well-known personality has expressed gratitude towards his Twitter fans and followers. Arun Govil makes use of the platform to connect with his followers.

Arun Govil, who is still remembered as Ram Ji, said that people still consider him as the best on-screen version of Ram. He added that (Writer-director Ramanand) Sagar sir’s ‘Ramayan’ had a great cast, the screenplay was exceptional, the acts were respectable and above all, his trust in ‘Ramayan’ made all the difference.

Once Arun Govil shared that his career came to a standstill. He shared that he got upset and there was a question mark on his profession. On one hand, Ramayan had given him huge love and respect, but on the other hand, his career came to a halt.

“I worked for a few more years before putting a full stop to my career in showbiz. For the last 14 years, I have not done anything, except maybe make a few special appearances. I have not given up on acting completely, but I will do something only if it is good,” he added.
