BharatPe’s co-founder and former managing director Ashneer Grover was one of the seven investors who appeared as Sharks on the first season of reality show Shark Tank India. Grover recently at an event, cleared out the air if the sharks were paid for their appearance.
Grover recently gave a lecture at Lovely Professional University. Talking about the show, he revealed how the auditions for the show were conducted at his home.
Talking further about the show, he revealed that none of the investors went on the show to make money. “Some people said that we made Rs. 10 lakh per episode, but I’d have been happy with even Rs. 5 lakh… We weren’t paid anything for any episode,” he added. He shared that the show’s concept was pretty simple, which was that they believed the investors had money and there were high value startups, so it will be nice to invest.
Grover was one of the seven judges on Shark Tank India which also included Lenskart’s Peyush Bansal, Anupam Mittal of Shaadi.com, SUGAR cosmetics’ Vineeta Singh among others.
The reality show has been confirmed to return for second season.
