Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, popular TV actress known for playing the role of Mrs Roshan Sodhi on hit series Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has accused the show’s producer Asit Kumar Modi of sexual harassment.
The actress has left the series and in an interview has claimed that Asit made ‘sexual advances’ towards her many time in the past. She initially ignored all his statement because of fear of losing out on work.
As per the reports by Free Press Journal, Jennifer termed the TMKOC sets as extremely ‘male-chauvinistic place’. She revealed that on her last day on shoot on March 7, which is also her marriage anniversary and Holi, the actress asked for half-day. The makers made adjustments for everyone except her.
On April 8, the actress sent a notice to Asit Modi, Sohil Ramani and Jatin Bajaj and also sent a registry to all the government authorities. “They [Mr Sohil Ramani and other executive producer Jatin Bajaj] tried to forcefully stop me on the sets and were shutting the gates and not allowing me to go out,” stated Jennifer as per FPJ. She added that its been a month since she has sent the complaint to the authorities but haven’t got any revert. The actress has hired a lawyer and believes that she will get justice very soon.
Over the past few months, many actors from the show, including Neha Mehta, Shailesh Lodham Raj Anadkar and others, have quit the series.
