COVID-19 patients in Delhi suburb, Noida, will now be served medicines by Zomato delivery boys. In fact, the district magistrate of Noida flagged off  the first group of Zomato teams earlier this evening. These food delivery boys will also provide vaccines to people who are COVID-19 positive and have isolated themselves at their homes, so that they do not have to leave their homes and get the required medicines at their homes. COVID patients who have quarantined themselves only need to contact the district administration, and the required steps will be taken, according to the district magistrate of Noida.

This comes as the second wave of the pandemic has hit the country. Such steps are been taken with an aim of preventing the further spread of the infection. Covid has claimed the lives of up to 3,980 people in India in the last 24 hours, the highest number in a single day so far, bringing the total number of deaths to 2,30,168. With 4.12 lakh infections per day, the country set a new record for daily Covid infections.
