On Thursday, National Award-winning actor Ashish Vidyarthi surprised fans by announcing his second marriage to Rupali Barua.
Social media users had a lot to say after hearing about his wedding at the age of 60. Many speculated about his recent wedding and spread rumours about his failed marriage to Piloo Vidyarthi aka Rajoshi Barua.
Piloo recently got candid and said that they are still close friends and tried everything before they decided to call it quits, assuring everyone that there was no bad blood between her and her husband. Now, in a video shared on his Instagram account, Ashish echoed Piloo’s sentiments. The actor revealed the reason behind his divorce from Piloo and subsequent marriage to Rupali with a calm and composed expression and a grin on his face.
He explained that he and Piloo were both ‘unhappy’ in their marriage and that they chose to divorce after consulting each other, their son Arth and even their families and closest friends. He talked about their hush-hush divorce and said, “We decided to handle our divorce with grace and dignity.”
Speaking about his new wife, Ashish stated that he asked the world for a partner and after meeting her, he realised he wanted to spend his life with her. “She is Rupali Barua.”
The actor added that after talking with Rupali for over a year, he knew he needed to spend the rest of his life with her, so he proposed to her. He also stated that he preferred the traditional way and did not want to be in a live-in relationship.
